Across Canada in 2017 not just on July 1st, Canada’s birthday, but all year long, the celebrations for Canada 150 will be awesome. Below we are listing all the links to the activities by province, so no matter where you are, or when you want to visit, you can pick your celebration or festival.

Prince Edward Island
Tourism PEI lists all the signature events for Canada 150
In spring, things really start to heat up on the Island; the Ceilidh at the Irish Hall begins in May, and the College of Piping in Summerside hosts the annual Highland Gathering. Then, it is pretty well non-stop party time until October, so be sure you are ready for an entertaining vacation when you plan your Island visit.
Besides all the wonderful annual events, watch for some newer activities such as: Festival of Small Halls in June; Fall Flavours in September; the Jazz & Blues Festival; the Cavendish Beach Music Festival featuring many of the best country artists; garden concerts and even a ceilidh on the water!
If you are in New Brunswick you can pick your party. This province knows how to celebrate Canada 150. There are 17 festivals to choose from. Don’t forget the Shediac Lobster Festival coming in July. Can someone pass the butter, please? Shediac is the Lobster Capital of the World, so each year we carve out 5 full days to celebrate this mouth-watering dish. Make sure you bring your bib if you’re coming to the Shediac Lobster Festival. (Shediac, July 5-9)

For those that love Acadian music, don’t miss the Cabot Trail Acoustic festival in July. And if you miss lobster in New Brunswick you can check out the lobster in Nova Scotia by going to a local lobster supper.
In a great celebration of the of the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation, a fleet of 40 tall ships will be sailing Canadian waters. They’ll be putting into host ports along the way, giving thousands of people in Québec, Ontario and the Maritimes the chance to admire these cathedrals of high seas.
Marking the point of the celebrations, the spotlight will be on Québec City as the entire fleet of 40 tall ships and 3,000 crew members convene here. There will be ship tours, thematic activities on the docks and a host of other free family activities for the general public.
There are tons of Canada 150 events across. Here’s what’s happening in Ontario. And the celebrations will be going on all year long. Here are just a few.
- TO Canada with Love – the City of Toronto’s celebration of Canada and Ontario’s 150th anniversary, providing Torontonians and visitors with engaging events and experiences
- Ottawa 2017 – a celebration in the nation’s capital, including once-in-a-lifetime signature events and transformative legacy projects that will change the city’s urban landscape – making it a must-visit destination during this milestone year
- TIFF’s Canada On Screen – 150 free screenings, live events, educational content, digital activations, and virtual reality projects based on 150 essential films, TV, music videos and commercials from Ontario and Canada
From large national and international events to a local village celebration, Saskatchewan’s community and volunteer spirit is legendary.

In the cities all across British Columbia there will be celebrations all year long, just like all major centres in Canada. Check out the list of awesome festivals in British Columbia.
